    ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 17 --

Today, Kodak and Japs-Olson are excited to announce the first installation of the new KODAK PROSPER 6000C Press, the industry's fastest full-color inkjet press. Ideally suited for commercial print applications requiring high-ink laydowns, the PROSPER 6000C Press is part of a new PROSPER Press lineup that delivers high levels of quality, reliability, print speed and application flexibility. The PROSPER 6000C Press aims to empower commercial printers and print service providers of data-driven print applications, such as direct mail and transactional printing.

With over 107 years of printing history, Japs-Olson, an industry leading commercial and direct mail print service provider based in St. Louis Park, Minn., welcomes the opportunity to have the PROSPER 6000C Press housed and running in its state-of-the-art printing facilities. The installation is part of beta testing already in operation, conducted by Kodak and Japs-Olson to push the new press to its performance limits and tap the potential offered by the press' innovations in transport, drying, writing systems and advanced press management technology.

"The only way to ensure long-term success in the printing industry is to provide the greatest quality to customers while being laser focused on productivity and efficiency," said Michael Murphy, President of Japs-Olson. "As we have become familiar with PROSPER 6000C Press, we are certain that the future of printing will be tied to this leading innovative product family. The early indications of its production capability and stunning quality are a testament to what the next generation of digital printing can do today."

The PROSPER 6000C Press prints at speeds of up to 1,000 feet, or 300 meters, per minute on matted and uncoated papers with a duty cycle of 90 million A4 top quality pages per month. An enhanced drying capability allows heavy-weight glossy and silk stock to be printed at 650 feet, or 200 meters, per minute. Additionally, the press provides long inkjet head life, high operational uptime, and fast job set-up and make-ready time, saving time while delivering value to customers.

"We are proud that our long-time valued customer, Japs-Olson, is beta testing our new PROSPER 6000C Press," said Doug Edwards, President, Digital Printing & Enterprise, Eastman Kodak Company. "Japs-Olson is a pioneer of commercial printing and has integrated digital and inkjet technology for several years to produce relevant and targeted direct mail campaigns. The exceptional quality standards of Japs-Olson are the perfect testing ground for a product that aspires to be the best in quality, productivity and sound economics."

Japs-Olson began their journey with Kodak over 18 years ago with KODAK VERSAMARK Imprinting Systems, before enhancing their offering with the KODAK PROSPER S–Series Imprinting Systems, integrating the KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting System and KODAK PROSPER S20 Imprinting System into operations. Today's collaboration around the PROSPER 6000C Press is a continuation of the two companies' longstanding relationship and commitment to bringing innovative solutions to the commercial printing market.

The PROSPER 6000C Press will be available this summer. The KODAK PROSPER 6000P Press will be available in the Fall of 2014.
